A beautiful oasis of calm with warm hosts & fabulous rooms. The setting will take your breath away!First time stay with wonderful hosts Mel and John. The rooms are simply beautiful, very tastefully decorated, with local antiques in a contemporary setting. There is a really luxurious and homely feel to all the guest spaces. The house is set in a stunning location with gardens which reach down to the river Nith. It’s so peaceful there and there is an abundance of wildlife for company. Everywhere you look there are lovely touches for guests from the well provisioned rooms to the books, flowers and area guides. We had the most beautiful breakfast with all local produce.Mel and John care deeply about positive community impact and it shows in their sustainability practices and genuine love for the area. Everything was perfect!
We hired a road bike and an electric bike from Galloway Cycling Holidays, a great experience and a stunning and peaceful area to explore.
Thanks Mel and John, you are doing all the right things, good luck and see you soon.

Our stay was sheer perfection!
We can’t thank you enough for a dream stay. The Cycling was Awesome.
We had the perfect day to ride bikes. A loop, never more than a few miles from our Nithbank Country Estate base. Drumlanrig Castle and then into the hills beyond Ae. I think we were passed by 15 cars in the whole ride!
Then the 53 mile ride that links the Galloway Highlands and the coast from Nithbank. There is quite a section of open moors in the way and some pure climbing. The amazing single track road down hill is well worth the entry fee of the climb.
Perfect days.

Mini-Moon Break…
What an amazing place to stay! The hosts as well as the facilities were amazing. Fantastic location which is secluded but close to the local village. The breakfasts were a 3 course meal in themselves and being treated to warm home made scones and tea after long walks were just what the doctor ordered!Melanie was an amazing host- attentive and really showed the passion and care leading to the great experience my husband and I had!Highly recommended and look forward to staying there again! -

One of the most lovely and hospitable places on earth!
Our stay with Mel and John was incredible!
We don’t want to go!
An amazing cycling experience with Galloway Cycling Holidays: The landscape and people of Galloway were the stars. Our route included a visit to the grave of the inventor of the bicycle! Then scones in our suite, I don’t want to ride I just want to sit here and look at the view!!

Absolutely Perfect…..
We travelled to Nithbank from our home in Kent, and after a long journey it was just what we needed. Beautiful house in a good location, lovely views and beautiful garden. Greeted with warm scones and homemade jam, served to our room, which was large and very comfortable. Lots of special little touches made this place special and I would recommend to anyone that you will have trouble bettering this place. Very clean, host very helpful and knowledgable of the area, great breakfast included using local suppliers where possible. Many thanks its been enjoyable and relaxing.
