DRUMLANRIG CASTLE – ‘The Pink Palace’
Nithbank is situated just 3 miles from ‘one of Britain’s finest’
The 90,000 acre estate has acres of stunning gardens and beautiful walks, try one of the championship mountain bike trails or enjoy the adventure playground for kids ranger activities.  The Castle is the seat of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry.  Inside the castle you can discover Rembrandt’s Old Woman Reading and family portraits by artists such as Thomas Gainsborough, landscapes by Paul Sandby and the Dutch masters, and cartoons by Rowlandson amid the finest furnishing and antiques.

STRIDING ARCHES – Andy Goldsworthy
Hidden away in various locations near Thornhill are a series of land art forms by the renowned landscape artist.
These include Striding Arches near Cairnead, Drumlanrig and also the Millennium Ciarn in Penpont.

MORTON CASTLE – ‘One of Scotland’s most enigmatic castles’
Situated up in the hills of Mid-Nithsdale, Morton Castle is a hidden gem waiting to be explored’

Crichope Linn – Sandstone Gorge
Fantastic dramatic views from within this gorge of the uniquely sculptured pillars and waterfall are worth the hunt for this very secluded and hidden location.  Situated just a few miles from Nithbank its a real find that only locals really know about.

Ellisland Farm – ‘Home of Robert Burns’
Ellisland took the inspiration for his best loved nature poems. Today Ellisland is a much celebrated museum housing an extensive collection of Burns artefacts, memorabilia and manuscripts.
