Absolutely loved our stay in Nithbank, the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. The country house is beautiful with the most amazing views. Mel and John were fantastic hosts and can’t thank them enough for everything they did for us during our stay – even homemade scones with jam and cream!! A wonderful weekend, my friends and I didn’t want to leave, can’t recommend it enough.

We had the most wonderful weekend at Nithbank Country Estate! John & Mel were wonderful hosts and made sure everything was perfect.
The suite was amazing and had lovely views of the estate.
Breakfast was delicious and you could tell the ingredients were all good quality!
I cannot recommend Nithbank enough. We will most definitely be returning!

At the end of our long, ten-week trip to Scotland, we really wanted to be pampered and chose nithbank for this.

The choice paid off, our great expectations have been fully met. The house has been renovated and furnished to a high standard, and although you feel a bit like a lady with the whole noble ambience and inventory, it is homely and comfortable.

The large room was awesome, as was the bathroom. Nothing was missing and everything was very clean.

Upon arrival we were offered a very delicious afternoon tea, the homemade scones were heavenly, and the breakfast was fine too.

In addition, Melanie and John are two wonderful hosts; cordial, authentic and professional.

Thanks to melanie, I was also able to visit a local ceramist with amazing pottery, thank you very much!

Nithbank is such a special place.

We ended our honeymoon with three nights here, and we’re so glad we chose this place.

It is set in such beautiful grounds, maintained with such loving care by its owners Melanie and John.

We loved that they are so committed to supporting local businesses and using eco products throughout.

We were so well taken care of during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and Melanie and John were so helpful with suggestions about the most beautiful walks and places to visit – without ever being intrusive.

And those breakfasts were sublime!

We will cherish our memories of our time at Nithbank – highly recommended.

John and Mel are fantastic hosts and the room is amazing with a ridiculously comfortable bed. Can’t recommend this highly enough. We will definitely be back some time in the future. Delightful location and great experience had at the Nithbank Country Estate.
Situated in a lovely part of rural Scotland it is perfectly located for no end of great walking experiences.

We have just spent a wonderful long weekend in this exceptional Country House. Our spacious and very comfortable suite had the most beautiful view of Nithdale imaginable. From the delicious homemade scones and tea on arrival to the best breakfasts ever, the attention to detail is remarkable; the rooms are tastefully decorated in sympathy with the age of the house, and Mel and John are natural hosts. This is a place we shall keep returning to!

What a find! One of the most relaxing stays in the UK for some time. The hosts Mel and John make you feel part of the family home and go out of their way to make the stay as relaxing as possible. The room we stayed in was the chamberlain suit and the view out of the windows was simply stunning. The room has a great king size bed and caters for all you needs with good Wi-Fi and even has a fridge with fresh milk. The room was refreshed every day and was really peaceful. The breakfast selection was great and well cooked and it was ideal to have our own table over looking the gardens. We walked every day in the local area and Mel was really helpful with directions and where to park. We enjoyed it so much that we booked again for August before leaving .
